Yacht charter companies in Europe generally request a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the charter fee at the time of booking confirmation. Final payment is required 45 days prior to the embarkation date of your departure. As Refund Conditions vary between the Companies we use, the actual policy for each charter will be advised in writing on booking confirmation.
We charge on Mastercard/Visa 1.5% and American Express 3%
These cards are accepted on the basis that you authorise Latitude to charge deposits and balance amounts to your card for the Company to pay Yacht Charter Operators, Airlines, Hotels and other tourism suppliers on your behalf.
Latitude Tourism Pty Ltd trading as Latitude Travel and Latitude Vacations acts as an agent for the Organisations that provide yacht charter, transfers, airlines, hotels and other tourism-related infrastructure and as such it is understood that by accepting your credit card that in the event booked services are cancelled due to insolvency or not provided that you will not hold Latitude Tourism Pty Ltd responsible by requesting your Credit Card provider to revoke payments already made.
All payments from Clients are credited to a Client Account and remitted to the Supplier within 5 working days.
We do not publish rates on our website unless they are listed as a special offer. Our yacht charter rates are delivered to us in Euros which are converted to Australian Dollars using our foreign currency provider’s rate.
Proof of sailing experience is required for the nominated Skipper in the form of an RYA International Certificate of Competence (ICC), RYA Day Skippers Certificate or IYT Bareboat Charter Skipper Certificate. In Croatia, a VHF Radio Certificate is also required and recommended also for other destinations. Certificates must be valid and available for confirmation at check-in at the Marina.
A security deposit is required and is refundable at the end of the charter when no damage has been assessed to the vessel. Deposit requirements and options vary between Charter Companies and the applicable one will be advised at the time of booking.
It is the client’s responsibility to have a passport that is valid for 6 months after their return date to Australia. Latitude will advise any visa requirements and clients with permanent resident visas should check the validity of the document to avoid any problems on their return to Australia.

Travel insurance is strongly recommended for medical, baggage, interruption of travel and possible cancellation of travel arrangements. Latitude can quote on a policy to suit your requirements.
‘Force Majeure includes any event which Latitude Tourism Pty Ltd or its suppliers could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid (e.g. advice against travel from the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), war, the threat of war, riot, civil strife, industrial dispute, epidemics, pandemic, health risks, terrorist activity, natural or nuclear disaster, fire or adverse weather conditions, technical or maintenance problems with transport, changes imposed by cancellation or rescheduling of flights by an airline or main charterer, the alteration of airline or aircraft type).
Latitude Tourism Pty Ltd will follow any cancellation policies of the Supplier Companies in relation to any Force Majeure event. Latitude will not be responsible for any additional costs associated with any possible event.
